About Vernon

Raised by his grandmother in a severely underprivileged neighborhood, Parker was able to escape the drugs and violence of his environment through the lessons of personal responsibility, education and the commitment of family.
• Long-time Arizona resident. Married for almost 20 years to Lisa, a native Arizonan.
• Served as Mayor of Paradise Valley and is a small businessman—nominated for small-business of the year award.
• Served as a Special Assistant at the White House under George H.W. Bush and as Assistant Secretary of Agriculture under George W. Bush.
• Served for two years as an interim pastor of a local church.
• Graduated from Georgetown Law School in Washington D.C. and holds a finance degree from California State University, Long Beach.
• Served as member of the National and Greater Phoenix Salvation Army Board and Christian Family Care Agency.
• Endorsed by Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Phoenix Councilman Sal DiCiccio, former Congressman Matt Salmon, Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, the AZ2010 Project and Taser International Chairman Tom Smith.
